We got great value for our money at Gasthof Alte Post in Grindelwald. The standard room was cozy, traditional, and clean, with a compact but adequate bathroom. The location was perfect, close to the cable car station to "First", and we enjoyed the stunning view of the Eiger mountain. The staff, especially Anna and her team, were warm, inviting, and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable.

The hotel breakfast menu could use some improvement, perhaps by offering a wider variety of options to choose from.

It's so convenient to head out for a day of skiing or exploring the beautiful mountains. The rooms on the second floor are simply stunning, with balconies that offer breathtaking views of the mountains. And let's talk about the breakfast - it's a feast! The only minor setback was the lack of adjustable shower temperature.

Rooms facing the courtyard may be noisy due to snow plows and late-night/early-morning activity around the hotel.

We loved everything about this hotel, from the convenient location right next to the cable car to First, to the excellent breakfast with fresh breads, local cheeses , and lots of fruits. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and we were even welcomed with a complimentary drink upon arrival. The hotel facilities were clean and well-maintained, and we were impressed with the ample parking available for guests.

Over the Christmas holidays I stayed at a hotel with a great location close to the train station and restaurants. The large terrace was perfect to enjoy a hot cup of cocoa while admiring the views of the snow-capped mountains. The breakfast buffet was a delight, with a lot of options from freshly baked bread to yogurt and nuts.

Some aspects of this hotel were not so great. The lighting in the room was poor, making it hard to read a book in the evening.
